***For Livestream Participants: While we are taking reasonable precautions to keep the live stream video up and running (including redundant connections, computers, etc.) there is always a possibility of technical failure. In the event of a technical failure, any parts that are not streamed properly will be made available to the live stream participants as soon as we are able to get the recorded video uploaded to Vimeo within a months time. If they are small areas that are not demonstrations, we may upload audio only so we can get it up quickly. However those signed up as live stream participants will be able to view any missed video online. We do not have plans to offer this series for CEU"s online at the moment, therefore, live stream may be the only way to participate remotely in these classes.

Medical Ethics of East and West: Compassion, Integrity, and the Modern Clinician
4 CEUs Approved!!
Medical Ethics of East and West: Compassion, Integrity, and the Modern Clinician
This course offers a comprehensive overview of the ethical concerns inherent in the practice of medicine. Focusing on the standards and principles that guide healthcare professionals in clinical practice, practitioner-patient relationships, and evidence-based research, participants will examine the ethical responsibilities that accompany the role of a healthcare provider.
The course will explore the national regulations and professional standards that acupuncturists and healthcare practitioners are expected to uphold, including serving the best interests of the patient, allocating appropriate clinical resources and expertise, maintaining professional competency through continuing education, and adhering to ethical guidelines that inform sound clinical decision-making.
In addition to contemporary healthcare ethics, participants will examine the ethical framework found within Classical Chinese Medicine and its emphasis on compassion, equality, responsibility, virtue, and professional integrity. The course will explore how these principles have shaped the physician's role throughout history and how they continue to influence clinical practice today.
Questions for ongoing contemplation will include the nature of healing, the purpose and responsibilities of systems of medicine, and the evolving role of the clinician in modern healthcare. Participants will also examine approaches to professional conflict, cultural competency, communication across diverse patient populations, and the ethical obligations embodied within the physician's oath.
By examining both Western and Eastern perspectives on medical ethics, this course seeks to cultivate greater awareness, professionalism, and ethical discernment in clinical practice, allowing practitioners to navigate complex healthcare situations with integrity, compassion, and accountability.
