Roots of Healing: Classical Lineage-Based Herbal Formulas and Their Modern Relevance - Classical Chinese Herbalism: Lineage-Based Formulas and Their Clinical Applications
18 CEUs Approved!!
September 26th - 28th, 2025 (FRI - SUN)
Chinese culture is deeply rooted in lineages and traditions that shape the transmission of knowledge, practice, and cultivation. Coming from a Daoist background and a transmission that includes the Imperial Medical Academy, Jeffrey Yuen offers insights drawn from a long lineage of intellectuals and experienced clinicians. These traditions represent significant influences that have shaped the development and practice of Chinese medicine.
While Jeffrey emphasizes that students should discover and cultivate their own unique approach, he also recognizes that such growth is shaped by foundational influences. These include the guidance of teachers, the structure of school curricula, and the ongoing need to integrate with Western medical traditions.
In sharing his lineage through both teaching and clinical experience, Jeffrey will present selected lineage based herbal formulas that reflect the guiding principles of his style and tradition. These formulas will be explored in depth and illustrated through case studies that demonstrate their relevance and effectiveness in contemporary clinical settings.
Topics include
• The importance of lineage in Chinese herbal transmission
• Formulas passed down from classical sources and personal clinical application
• How foundational influences shape diagnostic and treatment approaches
• Integration of classical herbal thought with modern clinical realities
• Case studies highlighting treatment success and clinical decision-making
This course is designed for healthcare professionals seeking to deepen their clinical skills by reconnecting with the roots of Chinese herbalism and learning directly from a living lineage.
