Long Term Covid Treatments and Classical Chinese Medicine

As we enter our third year of the Covid pandemic, we are seeing a growing number of people who are afflicted with a new illness called “Long-Covid”. While new to most people, Chinese medicine has very sophisticated descriptions for how and why post-infectious sequelae such as what is termed “Long Covid” develop. In this class, Dr. Yuen will cover the pathogenesis of long covid from a Chinese medicine perspective and how improper treatment greatly contributes to this. He will then discuss different strategies for treating long covid and other lingering pathogens. Strategies discussed will include ideas from the Shang Han Lun and Wen Bing, channel systems, Sun si miao and the 4 great masters. Approaches will include the use of acupuncture, herbal medicine, essential oils, qigong and dietary modification.
