About the Event
Assessing Destiny: the art of constitutional diagnosis in Chinese medicine.
In Chinese medicine one’s constitution and how it is unfolding is determined primarily through observation: long considered one of the pillars of diagnosis. In this seminar, Dr. Yuen will teach methods first of assessing the yin factors of the constitution: assessing one's face (heaven), body (earth) and the hands (humanity) and then the yang factors of how the constitution is expressing itself through the colors. By utilizing constitutional diagnostic methods, we are able to further differentiate pathology from physiology and have a much clearer idea of prognosis. The insights gained through constitutional assessment allows us to refine our understanding of how pathology is likely to progress, and how to make changes. As one’s health is intimately connected with one’s psychological and environmental circumstances, prognostication based on constitutional assessment can be an important tool to help patients prevent unfavorable outcomes.

***For Livestream Participants: While we are taking reasonable precautions to keep the live stream video up and running (including redundant connections, computers, etc.) there is always a possibility of technical failure. In the event of a technical failure, any parts that are not streamed properly will be made available to the live stream participants as soon as we are able to get the recorded video uploaded to Vimeo within a months time. If they are small areas that are not demonstrations, we may upload audio only so we can get it up quickly.
